  • For JMA Members Urgent Attention: The JMA has been offered Scampton airfield for a Jet Meet on 26/27 July 08 - very short notice but the only date on offer for the remainder of this year. The JMA Cttee are happy to run the event but need to get a feel from the membership of who would be likely to attend. To that end, JMA members reading this who would be able to make it to Scampton over that period are requested to confirm this by emailing the JMA Secretary, Roger Kilbey, at:
    roger.kilbey@
btinternet.com ...by this coming Sunday, 13th July, 2008. After that date, notification will be made of the decision on whether or not the event will take place.

  • There were only 4 applicants to enter the qualifier for the 6 places available for the 2009 JWM English Team, and so they become the official entry to represent England in Israel in 2009. They are:

    Paul Dunkley
    Davie Matthews
    Jeremy McMillan
    Ali Machinchy

Team members will nominate a Team Manager.

  • The JMA RAF Cottesmore Jet Meet will take place over the weekend 16-17th August, 2008. See Events page for more datails.

  • The BMFA have finally ratfied the JMA/GTBA COP to include the failsafe rule, which states: "In the event of loss of signal the failsafe must be set so that, after a maximum of 3 seconds the engine will go to idle or shut down. The use of idle as the failsafe setting must be authorised by the event organiser. The event organiser may also specify a shorter delay time."

    Welcome to the JMAs website

The Jet Modeller’s Association was established in 1995 and is the specialist body appointed by the British Model Flying Association to promote the sport of model jet flying in Great Britain – where it all began!

The JMA is managed on a day to day basis by a Committee of six guys who are all current practising jet modellers, and it is governed by a Constitution which can be viewed or downloaded here.

We hope you enjoy browsing the site and welcome any comments you may have on it.
