    Elvington Jet Fly-In 2010

    Elvington Model Flyers are to hold a Jet fly-in over the weekend of August 14th & 15th.

    Camping will be available on site from 17.30 hrs Fri 'till Sun evening.
    Pre booking is essential & the cut off date is August 1st.

    Toilets & water on site. Camping £10.00/weekend.

    Pilots £10 / day or £15 / weekend.

    If you're wanting B&B, please go to Elvington airmuseum website where you'll find a list of B & Bs. It is recomended that you book B & B early, as York is a very popular tourist area.

    JMA AGM & Shawbury Jet Meet 27th & 28th March, 2010

    The JMA AGM will take place at the Telford Whitehouse Hotel on 27th March, 2010 ... http://www.whitehousehotels.com/pages/telford will take you to the hotel - room rates are: Single £50, Double £60 per night. Mention the JMA when booking to get this discounted price. There will be a mini-jet trade show on the day - details of vendors will be available soon.

    Thanks to Frank Fletcher and members of the RAF Shawbury MAC, we have the use of RAF Shawbury for the season-opening JMA Jet Meet on 28th March, 2010.

    The Jet Meet is limited to 50 pilots max (must be JMA members), so get your name on the list soonest, together with details of the vehicle you'll be in (Make & Model, Colour & Reg No). by emailing Roger Kilbey at: roger.kilbey@btinternet.com

    Spectators/helpers intending to go (whether travelling with a pilot or not) must also register with Roger.

    The cut-off date for entries will be Friday 12th March, 2010 ( this is set by the MOD Police, not us! ).

    JMA/RAF Honington Jet Meet 3-4th April, 2010

    Courtesy of the Stn Cdr and the local club, the JMA/RAF Honington JMA Jet Meet will take place over the weekend 3-4th April, 2010.

    Open to JMA members only. Pre-entry for this event is essential and the following details should be sent to Roger Kilbey at roger.kilbey@btinternet.com by no later than close of post 19th March, 2010:

    Attendees should be aware that RAF Honington is a no-smoking site and photo ID will be required by the RAF Police on entry to the airfield.

    Accommodation:

    The Premier Lodge Hotel in Thetford (5 miles away) has about 30 rooms at £65.00 per night per room (0870 850 6320)

    North View Guest House (01359 269423) has about 6 rooms at £20 - £25 per person per night. This B & B is in Honington village comes highly recommended and is within walking distance of the local pub (5 mins from RAF camp). North View also has a camp site adjacent to the Guest House.

    RNMAA / JMA Jet Meet at Merryfield - 23rd May, 2010

    NEW EVENT!

    Thanks to Jamie Cuff & Pat Barnes of the Royal Navy Model Aircraft Association, and the Ctte and members of the Ilminster RC Model Club, a jet meet will be held off RNAS Merryfield, Somerset, on Sunday 23rd May, 2010.

    Merryfield is close to the village of Ilton - a map can be found at:

    The meeting is open to gas turbine powered models only. Noise must be kept to a minimum, so no D/F, Turboprops or Pulse Jets and there will be a limit of 3 models in the air at any one time.

    There will be a max limit of 30 pilots (must be JMA members), so get your name on the list soonest, together with details of the vehicle you'll be in (Make & Model, Colour & Reg No) by emailing Roger Kilbey at: roger.kilbey@btinternet.com

    Note: Helpers/spectators (whether travelling with a pilot or not) must also register with Roger.

    There will be a £10 fee for pilots (collected on the day), with all proceeds going to the 'Help for Heroes' Charity.

    The cut-off date for entries will be Friday 7th May, 2010 (this is set by the MOD Police and is not negotiable).
